Ryan's growing up!

Ryan got a second tooth, and he can now pull himself up to a stand, and he says 'kitty cat'!

i've yet to get those on camera but i did finally capture him crawling on his hands and knees! he's very purposeful with his motions, it's pretty funny...

Reflux Update (again)

Ryan has really made improvements over the last month! He is sleeping from 9-5 every night, it is wonderful!!! He's also eating two meals of solid food a day. His reflux has become more of the spitting up kind rather than the silent kind. He spits up all over the floor (we're going to need our carpets cleaned!) but hey, he's happy! We re-worked on him putting himself to sleep and now he'll go down for most naps and bedtime without any crying!! He's even missed his meds twice in the last week and it wasn't the end of the world! It's such a pleasure to have a happy child! I'm really starting to enjoy being a mom! I think several things have contributed to this change, stopping nursing, ryans digestive system maturing, the change in meds the doc made, eating solid foods, sitting up more. but most of all thank you for your continued prayers, it's what makes the most difference!

Worlds End 2008

I just added all of our pics from worlds end in a new album so take a look. There are a LOT! It went surprisingly well with ryan! He started sleeping longer while we were there, what i would consider through the night, and it's continued since we've come home!! We also started feeding him more solids there too, he's not terribly into it but we're forcing it in cause i think it's helping with the reflux! Ryan LOVED hiking on his daddys back and taking walks in the stroller. Tim caught I think a total of 5 fish, woohoo! and I(Jen) finally finished a book i started over a year ago, lol! It was so fun to see everyone in the fam every day, what a blessing to get to hang out with everyone for so long! Heres a huge sampling of pics...

A Tooth!

I tried really hard to get a good picture of Ryans first tooth, but he doesn't like me playing with his mouth when he's trying to play with the camera! if you click on the picture it will load real big on your screen, you might be able to see it better that way.

Tims sister Ruthie and my sister Katie both just graduated from college (different colleges). So congratulations to both of them! Good job sticking it out! You're finally done!

Reflux Update

bear with me, i have a lot to say today!

Ryans reflux is still going strong and tim and i are still quite exhausted. We've seen the specialist and he made sure his anatomy is all in it's right place, so that's not the problem. We're still told he'll outgrow this within his first year. Which isn't much of a comfort on bad days when he's constantly whining. he doesn't sleep/nap well in general, up until about two weeks ago ryan was still getting up every 1 to 2 hours at night. that has greatly improved and he's up about twice a night now!! he doesn't eat all that well either but he seems to get enough, he's still gaining weight! he's still on his prilosec and we're trying mylanta as well.

but the biggest thing that makes a difference is PRAYER!! here's two examples...
at small group the other night i was very discouraged and the girls prayed for me/ryan and that night he was at my moms and he slept through the night! and just today we were having a terrible whiny spitty day and he wouldn't eat. tim was home for lunch and prayed for us. after lunch ryan ate 6 ounces and napped from 1:30-4:30! praise the Lord for little miracles!

Just wanted to say a special thanks to my mom for all the help she gives me. She is a great support to me every week, helping around the house, with grocery shopping, and generally just being there to talk to, like she's always been! She (and my dad) have also been taking ryan for one night a week to allow tim and i to sleep. this is a HUGE blessing to us!

Weekend Fun with the Girls

God has blessed me with great friends and I got to spend the weekend with some of them...

On friday night I got to go to the Rockapella concert with my mom and my sister. It was fantastic!! They are awesome and so hilarious! My hands hurt from clapping so much. We also went out to dinner at the culinary arts school beforehand. That was quite fun, there were probably 2 chefs per customer lol. Anyhow, here's some pics...





On saturday I went to a baby shower with my small group girls. Also great fun, and great food! :) Here's a really good pic we took while we were there...



I wish I could have hung out with all my friends this weekend. Why is it that we only get all our loved ones together for weddings and funerals? It's so hard to keep in touch especially with long distance friends, but it doesn't mean I don't love you! (I miss you Thera and Megan!)

These are some of ryans new friends, jayven and mariah. It's actually my highschool friend and her kiddos :) He loves to hang out with other kids! We've been going to the library the last couple fridays for storytime and they get to see eachother there too.

We had a great easter here! Tim planned lots of fun activities for everyone to do including another scavenger hunt. We also had great eats! Praise the Lord Christ is risen!!
